When you contribute to the development of resources, it will highlight you as a professional and will be connected to your referral profile This will give potential clients a sense of who you are. Each blog has the potential to be more broadly distributed through the network newsletters, and social media and could end up as the basis of content created for the farmer experience. We commit to recognizing you every time it is used.
The schedule and themes will be on the member site, and you can submit the blog through our form.
Length: Aim for 800 to 1,500 words. Maximum total word limit of 2,000 words.
Submission Guidelines for Blogs
Each blog submission must include the following:
Audience: All blog submissions must be written through the lens of agriculture and how it applies to farmers and/or their farm families.
We’ve created a calendar outlining the common stressors for farmers each month. Please review the calendar and commit to writing at least 4 blog submissions to help us build out mental health resources for farmers.

Your Blog Title

The ideal timing for publication (note any external events we should know about)
Brief bio (2-3 sentences) that introducing yourself for the ‘About The Author’ section
Your title or affiliation, social media handles, and your relationship/experience with agriculture
Supporting photos (if any) that must be free to use commercially and/or licensed by you.g submission must include the following:
Formatting tips for digital content: To help break up text passages, attract search engine traffic, and aid readers who scan, please consider inserting subheadings and bullet points for lists.
Citations: Please use endnotes or hyperlinks to articles to substantiate any claims, cite original sources, or for other attribution purposes.
Proofread: Authors are responsible for the accuracy of their submissions. Please ensure that your blog has been proofread, your citations checked, and the piece properly finalized.
Topics: Depression, Anxiety, Chronic Stress, Substance Abuse, and Farm Family Resiliency.
Images: Images and graphics help make a post more engaging, and we like to include them with blogs when possible. Please make sure you have permission to use any visual elements you provide and include attribution.
Promotion and Social Media Distribution: Once a blog pitch is approved, the AgKnow team will then work with you to schedule the blog, considering other items on the editorial calendar and external news hooks (where relevant).
AgKnow will promote your post to our email subscribers and social media, which may include Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
We encourage contributors to do the same. By contributing to the blog, you grant us the right to use your name in promotions and other publications.
Writing Tips:
Write like you talk to the audience
Show your personality; don’t tell it
Provide a specific, catchy working title
Stick to one main point, make it often
Keep the post word length relatively short (~800 words)
Provide a relatable story or situation
Ensure there is a link to expert content
Provide links to other content
Ensure the post ties to the bigger picture

Highlight relevant research or expert knowledge
End with a call to action/tip/recommendation
